Cross-Strait Exchanges

The CEEC and China’s National Education Examinations Authority (NEEA) have made reciprocal visits every other year since 1996. During each visit, a one-day seminar is held for theoretical and practical discussions on test item design and evaluation, statistical analysis, exam administration and reform. The host organization also arranges visits to local universities for the visiting delegation to learn about student admissions, and educational vision and mission. The activities allow for a more thorough understanding of changes and reform in the hosts’ examination and admissions system.

In addition to regular exchange visits between the two institutions, staff from China’s provincial education examination authorities and related bodies occasionally visit Taiwan. Seminars are organized to share ideas and experiences concerning issues related to examinations. The exchanges during the seminars also offer us useful thoughts on improving exam validity.
